Thermodynamic studies of CO2 - TBAB - water system
Abstract
The CO2 solubilities in aqueous TBAB solutions of 20 wt% and 40 wt% have been measured by a PVT system at 17, 20 and 25 °C with CO2 pressure up to 30 bar. CO2 was found to be either salted in or out by the presence of TBAB upon the temperature and TBAB concentration. For example, higher temperature and TBAB concentration resulted in higher CO2 solubility than that in pure water. The Setchenow coefficients, k, for 20 wt% and 40 wt% were calculated. Furthermore, the densities of TBAB aqueous solutions over the TBAB concentration of 10~40 wt% were determined at 8~30 °C and our data was found to agree well with the literature data.
